Inviting Clients to Your Partner Dashboard
There are three methods available to invite clients to your Partner Dashboard:
- Method 1: Via Email
- Method 2: Via a Unique Link
- Method 3: Via a Sign-Up Form (Recommended)
Log into Partner Dashboard: Access your Partner Dashboard using your Time by Wagepoint credentials.
Method 1: Invite via Email
Send Email Invitation:
-
- Select the option to invite clients via email.
- Enter the client’s email address and send the invitation.
Method 2: Invite via Unique Link
Generate Unique Link:
-
- Select the option to invite clients with a unique link that is directly associated with the partner.
- Embed this link into an email and send it to the client.
Method 3: Sign-Up Form (Recommended)
Note: This is the only option that automatically creates a client account and a user for the partner with the same email and password as their partner account in the new client account.
Use the Embedded Form:
-
- Select the option to use the sign-up form within the dashboard.
- Fill out the form with the client's information.
- Once the form is submitted, the client will receive an email with instructions on how to log in.
- A user for the partner with the same email and password as their partner account will be created within the new client account.
Advantages of Using the Sign-Up Form:
- Automatic Account Creation: Simplifies the process by creating the client account instantly.
- Consistent Credentials: Ensures that the partner can access the new client account using the same credentials as their partner account.
- Streamlined Process: Reduces manual steps and potential errors in client account setup.
Managing Clients:
After the client is invited to sign up, they will appear in the Client List on the dashboard. From the Client List, the Partner can perform various actions such as logging in to client accounts, resending invitations, and resetting passwords. Below are the details on the table status and the actions a partner can take:
Actions a Partner Can Take from the Client List
Resend Invite: The "Resend Invite" action allows the partner to resend the invite email to a client who has not yet created an account. Clients in this status will be in the "Invited" state. This is particularly useful for clients who may have missed or overlooked the initial invitation email.
Log In: The "Login" action enables the partner to log into the client account. This access is critical for providing support and assistance directly within the client’s account environment. It’s important to note that a client can take actions that could impact the partner's ability to log in, such as making the employee record of a partner user inactive or demoting an admin to a manager or employee. In such cases, the client or another admin would need to resolve the issue.
Reset Password:The "Reset Password" action allows the partner to reset the password for their own user account within the client’s account. This is a valuable tool for security or maintaining access in case of forgotten passwords or other login issues.
Table Status
- Invited: Clients have received an invitation but have not yet created their account. Partners can resend the invite email to these clients, prompting them to create their account.
- Trial: Clients have logged in and are currently in their 14-day trial period. Partners can log into these accounts to assist with setup or provide support.
- Trial Expired: Clients' trial period has ended without subscribing to a paid plan. Partners may need to reach out to encourage these clients to subscribe.
- Paying: Clients have subscribed to a paid plan. Partners can log into these accounts to manage the client’s needs and provide ongoing support.
Inviting clients to your Partner Dashboard is crucial for managing client interactions and ensuring smooth collaboration. While all three methods are effective, Method 3 provides the added benefits of automatic account creation and consistent user credentials, making it the recommended choice for inviting new clients.
Managing clients through the Client List allows for efficient handling of client accounts, providing options to resend invitations, log in to client accounts, and reset passwords as needed. This ensures that partners can maintain seamless access and support for their clients.
Understanding the different table statuses—Invited, Trial, Trial Expired, and Paying—helps in managing client interactions and addressing their needs effectively.
