To keep delivering the reliable payroll service you know and trust, we’re making a small adjustment to our pricing. This FAQ is designed to give you a clear overview of what’s changing, why we’re making the update, and what it means for your business. Our goal is to be as transparent and helpful as possible so if you don’t see your question answered here, our support team is always happy to help. Only the per-employee fee is going up. The new pricing for running payroll will be the standard $20 per pay run plus 3$ for each employee on the pay run (up from 2$).

Why is my per employee fee going up?

The per employee fee update helps us provide you with easy-to-use payroll and friendly support, while also investing in long-term product improvements that you’ll benefit from going forward.

This is our first pricing update in more than a decade and we thought it through carefully to minimize the impact on our customers. We know that running a small business takes a lot and Wagepoint is truly grateful to be on the journey with you.

When does the new pricing take effect?

The new per employee fee will apply to payrolls processed on or after August 7, 2025.

Do I have to do anything?

There’s nothing for you to do. The updated pricing will be applied automatically to your account on August 7, 2025.

Am I charged for terminated or on leave employees?

No, the per employee fee only applies to the individuals that are included on the processed payroll. You will be charged only for the employees included in a particular pay run.

Why is Wagepoint increasing prices now?

This is our first price change in 12 years. We’ve held off as long as we could, but the $1 per employee fee (from 2$ per employee to 3$) update helps us invest in better service, smoother payroll processing, and the features you’ve told us you need most.

How does Wagepoint’s pricing compare to other solutions?

Even with this small increase, Wagepoint remains one of the most affordable payroll solutions for Canadian small businesses. Our pricing remains transparent and all inclusive with no extra charges for T4s, ROEs, tax filings, or year-end forms.

Can I speak to someone about my account?

Absolutely! We’re here to help. Reach out to support@wagepoint.com to connect with a member of our team.
